James Swinson

He is from the big city of Mount Olive, NC. After his graduation from Southern Wayne High School, Mr. Swinson joined the U.S. Marine Corps., in which he served 8 years. While in the armed forces, Mr. Swinson earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from The North Carolina Central University. While attending the great university he was chosen to join the best fraternity in existence, through The Mighty Tau Psi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. He crossed those burning sands in the Fall of 2005. As an undergraduate, he held several positions in the fraternity, one being the Undergraduate Representative to the Supreme Council in which is a national elected position. After graduation, his degree landed him a job with the Department of Public Safety as a Youth Counselor for a Youth Development Center. Through growth and advancements in life Mr. Swinson took his talents to the insurance industry. He is currently employed with a fortune 50 insurance company and has been the past 10 years, receiving numerous awards and recognition. Mr. Swinson, also had the opportunity to come back to NCCU to volunteer with Career services helping students with a Resume Workshop. While working for this company Mr. Swinson was able to obtain his Masters degree in Management and Leadership from Walden University. Mr. Swinson is the Founder/CEO of the non-profit organization, Leaders with Integrity and Values, Inc in the mission is to create a positive and engaging environment designed to foster positive leadership and social skills. Our program is centered around exposure, we believe the more the youth is exposed to positive engaging activities the more successful the outcome. He serves as Cubmaster for Pack 253 Cub scouts of Watts Chapel Missionary Baptist and has done so for a few years and for years to come. This is an opportunity to work with youth ages 6-10, getting them prepared for Boys Scouts. As some may know it is very difficult to reach the rank of Eagle Scout and it is my mission to prepare all my boys to make this goal obtainable. He has two young handsome Ques in the making. He is currently coaching basketball with I9 Sports picking up where he left off from coaching with John Avery Boys and Girls Club. He currently serves in hid graduate chapter as Reclamation and Retention Chair for the Xi Mu Mu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He is also a Life Member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He lives by his personal motto “Service Over Self”.

Rocky Mount, NC native. Dedicated last eight years traveling 13 states teaching development and spiriting leadership. Becoming a den leader to the cub scouts has given me a new insight on how I can impact the youth and their future. These past two years has been fun, adventurous, and an eye opener helping them gain lifestyles they can take with them forever!

Hello. My name is Amneste Bynum-Brake. I am the Den leader for the Lions and Tigers. I have been a leader for 3 years and have enjoyed the program this far. My passion is to teach the boys the basics of Cub scouting so that when they advance to a higher rank, they have a full understanding of what it means to be a Cub Scout.
